Data - Report Card Absences
Student absences are counted and posted to the quarterly report card. These are totaled at the end of the year to show the total number of absences per student.
Two ways to look at absence data, shown below, are distribution and average daily attendance.
Absence Distribution
One way to look at absences is to examine how many students had no absences, how many had 1, how many had two, etc. Absence ranges, eg., 1-5, more than 10, etc., could be used so the data is not too dispersed.
The table below shows the number of students who had 0, 1-5, 6-10, and 11+ (11 and over) absences.

Average Daily Attendance
One type of statistic is the Average Daily Attendance, a calculation to show the percent of students who are present each day of the 180 days of the school year. The table below shows the ADA by grade level.
The column headings used in the table are: Grade = grade level; N = number of students; Count = Total number of absences for all students; ADA = Average percentage of students attending school each day (Average Daily Attendance).
